For the spring-summer 2026 season, party tops and blouses are focusing on three main styles:

• Blouses with volume in the sleeves and shoulders (puff sleeves, ruffle or tie details)
• Strapless or bustier tops for more formal events
• Straight-cut blouses with detailing at the neckline or closure.

The most popular fabrics are lightweight crepe, chiffon and linen. In terms of color, light shades (cream, off-white, pale pink) and earth tones (camel, khaki) dominate for daytime, while more saturated shades are more common for evening events.

For a party top to work at a wedding, the best combination is with a crepe midi skirt or palazzo pants in the same fabric or in a complementary shade.

If the top has any detail (bow, ruffle, embroidery), the bottom piece should be more understated so as not to overload the outfit. For outdoor summer weddings, a strappy or strapless top with a flowing long skirt in a light shade is one of the most elegant and fresh options. Add a light jacket for the religious service or ceremony and remove it for the banquet. Neutral-colored or top-colored footwear completes the look with cohesion.

Yes, and it often turns out more elegant and distinctive than a conventional dress. The key is the cohesion of the outfit: the top and skirt should create a balanced silhouette, as if they were designed together.

For weddings with a strict dress code, choose a top with a formal finish (no excessive sheer fabric, with good structure) and a midi or long skirt. For more informal or civil weddings, you can explore freer combinations of color and fabric.

What determines whether the outfit is appropriate is not whether it is a dress or two pieces, but the quality of the fabric, the fit, and the visual cohesion of the overall look.

For spring-summer, the best fabrics for a party top or blouse are lightweight crepe, chiffon, and fine linen.

• Crepe provides structure without stiffness, ideal for strapless tops or those with neckline detailing.
• Chiffon is perfect for blouses with volume or layers that flow with movement.
• A fine linen top with sleeves gives a natural, fresh finish that is very suitable for morning or outdoor weddings.

It is best to avoid highly shiny synthetic-based fabrics for daytime events, as they can look overly casual or cause overheating. For evening events, satin or heavier crepe is more appropriate.
